50 Hours of Gaming + No Food/Water = Death

Yet another gaming cafe fatality
How many consecutive hours of video games can the human body take without eating or drinking? Fifty, apparently (http://today.reuters.co.uk/news/newsArticle.aspx?type=int ernetNews&storyID=2005-08-09T104506Z_01_KWA938635_R TRIDST_0_OUKIN-ODD-KOREA-GAMES.XML) . A South Korean man conducted his marathon gaming session at a local cybercafe, but ultimately died from heart failure and exhaustion. He had recently quit his job to game more. Off the top of our heads, we can think of two other similar cases; one man died after an 86 hour binge (http://www.smh.com.au/articles/2002/10/10/1034061260831.html?onecli ck=true) , the other after 32 hours (http://www.vnunet.com/vnunet/news/2120472/second-gamer-dies-massive-binge) .

I've been on a 38 hour binge of CS... when I was 16. It was pretty fun.

I remembered to eat food and drink stuff (pop mostly).

54 hours, with breaks to eat with my family, mow the lawn, and go to the store to get pop.

Never, ever again will i play more than 20 hours. Probably not even 10. On the rare - VERY rare - occasion, 8 :)

Oh my freakin god, whats it take, 15 minutes to go to a local McDonald's and get a burger and a drink? Games are "important," but if you can't take 15 minutes out of your "hectic" gaming schedule for food, you need help, and thats not the kind of help a level 54 wizzard can give you. Forgive the weak rpg analogy, as I don't play them at all.

I got some 10+ hours' sessions of bridge (traditional way). I've never felt exhausted but sometimes drunk (somewhere in the middle of the game). :)

Well, with food and water you could probably go for weeks...maybe even years, playing games on your computer. What a drea...I mean; that is crazy. :D

I've stayed awake playing for 48+... diablo II last summer before WoW and hl2 came out. I think we maxed out 3 characters each in that time span. It was crazy. We tried to play magic but I kept trying to cast things when I clearly didn't have enough mana. :o

Okay I read in the USA Today on Thu. that the 28 year old dude was playing Starcraft. And according to the newspaper he was fired from his job cause he was always missing work playing games. Poor guy's heart couldnt handle it and he died from a heart attack.

My longest was 10 hours straight of WoW. My guild was learning MC(the hardest zone at the time.)

Its funny because there are gold farmers accounts that are on 24/7. I think 2-3 people play the same one.

When F.E.A.R. comes out I'll be playing that as long is it takes to beat it. :)

I had a good Korean friend in EQ that was known for pulling 30 hour stints regularly. We started getting tired of him falling asleep on our raids and started leaving him behind when we moved. :D

24 hours is my record. But it wasn't just me that pulled it off, it was myself, that afformentioned Korean friend, and 2 other buds that stayed in a spot for a whole day with short breaks for food and restroom. We were just enjoying ourselves too much to quit. I never did that again tho. After about 2 or 3 hours I usually rest my eyes for anywhere from a half hour to an hour before picking up games again. Other than the SCA, games are the only form of entertainment I get into.
