i know windows xp limits my games to 60hz, I was able to fix this problem only for the game Halo though because in the video settings it asks for refresh rate, which i select because i know at 1024x768 my monitor can do 85hz

however, for all of my other games, they seem to get stuck at 60fps :'(

i used a tool called reforce which I used to override my settings, but sadly halo was the only game to pick up on this :?

other games i've tried are need for speed underground (the first one) and cs: source which acted very weird

when i enabled vsync for cs:source sometimes my fps would lock at 60, and sometimes it would lock at 30, when i was playing at cs_office it would switch to 30 in some rooms and 60 in others, and it would always go to 60 if i shot, very strange :(

What do you get for FA? Or, what did you get?

in FA, i got a steady 100 fps, which is the limit without turning "developer 1" on

unfortunately, i couldn't enable vsync in FA and with the new ATI Catalyst Control Center i don't know how to enable vsync all of the time, so i just got the terrible visual tearing effect

It doesn't matter, you don't notice it above 30 fps anyway.

60 fps is a refreshrate problem.

You need to reinstall drivers. Get your v-sysnc off. Get a refreshrate fix if you use XP.

Or adjust your config.cfg and make sure your max_fps is at 100.

Mac

got this off another thread also try to find refresh force aka reforce try searching for it in google.
