I don't like to taddle on guys but when they come into the Armory servers (the only servers I play on) and run some stupid hacks it really gets under my skin. I know you guys can't watch it 24/7 and that you do take appropriate actions when needed.

The other day it was "SoundGuy" dropping constant arti strikes and supply boxes.

Today it was "Teddy--HK" again with the constant Artillery. He stopped as soon as he saw an Armory guy login (Gadfry) so I guess all I can say is keep an eye out for this SN and see if it happens again.

Peace

Yeah teddy--hk was really annoying, especially since all those kick votes were unsuccessful.

Thx APOC_V we'll come in some times when others don't know we are there and it seems like we will have to start doing it more now. Thx again for bring it to our attention.

We appreciate it whenever someone comes to us saying there is a hacker on our server. Whenever someone leaves a name we look out for them in the server for solid evidence. We can't look over the server 24/7, but with our wide community we have a good chance of someone catching him.

We'll defiantly keep an eye out for those guys, but I think we've banned "SoundGuy" already.

yeah speaks kicked teddy--hk with a warning. I didn't see him doing the arty until the second game, since your team blew up all his assets the first game.
he came back after we kicked him, but was not commanding anymore.

Next time I play I will not wear my tags, to see if the cheating is worse than it was the other day. Thanks gadfry for spotting that pod exploiter.

Keep up the good work! You guys are helping to make the Armory an even better place to game.

Well it was the summer time, and kids will be kids. The past three days I found it impossible to get the servers started in the mornings. I think that most of the kids who were playing all day have gone back to school. Maybe this will help to stem the tide? I'm hoping that it is mostly the younger crowd that is doing this, so when we do get them all those left will honest mature players, I am hoping.

Thomas and I were playing on another sever the other morning because, after almost two hours, we could not get our sever started. I don't know which one it was but the cheating was horrible, pod steering in fall of berlin all the way across the map, other such incidents. I was fixing to start kicking people, then remembered where I was. I think all in all our server is a pretty fair place to play, although from time to time the stinkers get by without being noticed, or caught. We just need to keep fighting that good fight, its why so many people love to play the Armory servers. ;)

It wasn't deleted, it was moved. It contained things that were not appropriate for the general forum.

FYI i have seen Teddy on other servers and he has done the same, orbital strike after another it was to the point where it was annoying and all. I sent a notice to EA howeve havent heard anything back as to a status on the player other then the form letter "thank you for your concern...." I know recently there has been some players online especially the A servers cause they are ranked, who seem to be using exploits like this along with other like being able to see through walls, 1-2 shot kills with weapons that usually take a few is there a forum or contact to advise of these players, because seeing some the other evenings it makes for new people on the servers discouraged and not want to return as was mentioned in our squad talks. I would love more information on how to report suspicious playing.

i've seen teddy hk commander hack.

The problem with hackers are more frequent during the late night/early morning hours. Right after Gadfry and anibis left last night (about 3am mountain time GMT -7), the guy with no name returned and zellerd Stovich at the start of the round. Gamb made a post about this person commander hacking before and i dont know where it got moved to.

Just my 2 cents...but i think gadfry should get some admin power. I think most of us late night players would agree on that.

It sucks when people just cant play and have fun cheating to me is not fun at all! Its good that the server and forums are growing and that we can combat stuff like this pretty darn quickly I love playing on the servers and I like the forums too so keep up the great work and lets get these guys off of the server for good!

This is probably not the place to say things of this nature. Since it was brought up, I think that it is a great idea.

The average gamer is 30 years old. Not many kids play 2142 or are really on the computer. They play on the Xbox 360 spamming the mics in halo 3 and GOW. The majority of hackers are older guys that cant kill anything and work a lot, not having time to actually get good. :D :p

Go back to pong old man. :D :D :D LOL jk man. :p

How come punkbuster does not catch these hackers? I thought it was designed to "notice" changed game code and kick the player. It has kicked me a few times and I am using a good install of the game with no modifications.

Usually if I am on a server and someone is way too good, I leave and go to a server where the players are "normal". Can consoles have the same problem?

The problem is pretty small on consoles. But punkbuster isn't all that great. It does stop all of the kiddy hacks but the well designed ones do get past it.

I thought maybe it checked a CRC sum on the game exe as well as reading it for modifications.
